After appearing in last year’s season of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, Joel Creasey has fast become one of Australia’s favourite celebrities.
Creasey’s show at this year’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival is appropriately titled The Crown Prince because, well, why not? This latest work from Creasey details all the highlights from his life, so we’re talking full on celebrity gossip. The whole evening felt like a catch up with a girlfriend you hadn’t seen in ages, but that girlfriend is in those higher social circles while you just work your 9-5, and here you are getting the low down on all the celerity goss. Talk about being in the know.
Creasey knows absolutely everyone. It’s actually amazing he can keep up with his own life. We’d like to see a reality show made just for him, titled Keeping Up With Joel Creasey. Watch out Kim K, our Mr Creasey is coming for your crown. Aha! Maybe that’s why this show is named The Crown Prince? So he can dethrone Saint West. Ahhh Mr. Creasey, we knew you were a clever cookie.
The show isn’t anything life-changing, but it’s not meant to be. It’s meant to act as an escape from our own lives and a chance for us live vicariously through him for one night; to just sit back and imagine what it would be like to be Joel Creasey, let alone even be his friend. It’s safe to say Creasey would be a very loyal friend and someone rather enjoyable to be around because his is energy is infectious, and that’s a quality not a lot people can say they possess.
We were in fits of laughter the whole evening and didn’t want the show to end, but, when you have a life as prosperous and fun as Creasey’s, you can’t help but leave feeling a little bit deflated about your own life. No hard feelings, we just wish we could walk a day in his shoes. Imagine that!
