Unleash the mother warrior within with Jenny Wynter in Brisbane this May

Calling all Brisbane mums.

Desperately trying to keep it together?

So is Jenny Wynter in Viking Mama!

Join Wynter and release the mother warrior within from Wednesday 4 to Saturday 7 May at the Judith Wright Centre.

Viking Mama sheds light on a day in the life of a Viking mother, as she tries to throw together a last minute third birthday bash for her little Viking son (played by a lettuce. Yes, you read that right).

This one-woman rock opera features a passive aggressive neighbour, overtly considerate husband, hyper-inappropriate grandmother and many other wild tribe members, all played by comedic powerhouse that is Jenny Wynter.

Flanking her are the Valkyries (played by cabaret group Betty and the Betties), offering advice, support, occasional misguidance (and backing vocals!) during the show’s many musical tangents, as well as a bearded lady keyboardist.

Wynter is an Aussie based comedian, cabaret performer and writer; characterized by her improvisational and musical stylings, with her trademark being comedy songs improvised on the spot with audience input.

Just in time for Mother’s Day (Sunday 8 May for all those out there wondering) Viking Mama is a must see cabaret for any mum who’s ever felt slightly disheveled at school drop offs, a little bit deranged at the local mother’s group meetings or very much unbuttoned in front of the in-laws.

Join in the fun and celebrate the craziness that is motherhood, just before Mum’s biggest day.

Lettuces may be harmed…
