Melbourne’s QV Square and the surrounding laneways will later this month be transformed into a vibrant outdoor garden gallery of interactive neon art installations. Running from 17th May until 17th June, Melbourne-based international artist Carla O’Brien will fill the space with her new exhibition Neon Night Garden.
Neon Night Garden will be O’Brien’s most extensive exhibition to date and will feature nine colourful and alluring artworks, including her signature piece Neon Angel Wings (pictured above) re-imagined as the colourful wings of a butterfly. The work, made famous by Katy Perry at last year’s Burning Man, will be joined by eight other “touchable” artworks, creating a bright garden of colour and light.
The Neon Night Garden will be open from 10am on 17th May at QV Melbourne, with a special additional installation in Albert Coates Lane on 17 May, to mark the launch of the Neon Night Garden. The exhibition is free to the public and runs for one month in QV Square until 17th June.
