Music program announced for Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait

A few days ago our beloved Amy Winehouse would have turned 34 years old. It’s still so hard to think that this world no longer has such a soul gifting us with her talents. All is not lost however, as an exhibition in her honour is so close to opening thanks to the Jewish Museum of Australia.

It has just been announced that an impressive music program will be running from October 22, 2017 until March 25, 2018. In partnership with the Jewish International Film Festival (JIFF), Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) and St Kilda Festival, the program will feature a Thursday Nights series which means visitors can check out the exhibition, while enjoying live performances and drinks. Each event  in the series will celebrates Winehouse’s varied musical genres, with evenings dedicated to jazz, soul, gospel, Motown and hip-hop.

Artists on the line-up include The Rookies, Thando, Rita Satch, Melbourne Indie Voices’ very own Phia, DJ Vince Peach and DJ MzRizk. For a treat of all treats, Amy Winehouse impersonator Ashleigh Kreveld will perform on Sunday December 3rd, and for some Amy-inspired jazz on Thursday November 2nd at the Lido Cinema in Hawthorn you’ll be able to enjoy the fabulous Ruth Rogers-Wright and Fem Belling who will be joined by the Mark Fitzgibbon Trio to play the jazz standards
of Amy Winehouse.

But for the flagship music event which is a retrospective of her catalogue and influences you can enjoy the incredible tribute at Memo Music Hall featuring an all-star band led by Jazz Party leader Darcy McNulty, with singers including Kylie Auldist, Alma Zygier and Elana Stone (All Our Exes Live in Texas).

Tickets will be limited so get booking now.
