Bris Funny Fest to return next week bigger and better than ever

From international touring comedians to rising local stars, Bris Funny Fest is back for its second year and it’s bigger and better than ever before! With over 50 shows to choose from, the festival will take place in various locations around Brisbane from the 2nd-20th of August.

A Game Of Thrones improvised parody, a pleasure machine in an orange poncho and an all-female line-up hosted by The Great Australian Bake Off host Mel Buttle…this year’s festival has kicked it up a notch.

“This is the biggest year yet for Bris Funny Fest and it’s a cracker,” says festival director Steven Morgan. “We’ve gathered a diverse range of comedians and they’re exploring every topic you could want to hear about- how to find or avoid love, the dangers of cupboards, motherhood, modern masculinity, how to know when you’re an international sex icon and how two skulls is better than one,”

Highlights include American Mike Goldstein with his show A Jerk In Progress, Singaporean-born Ting Lim and Stephanie Tisdell for Token Ethnics, an exploration of what it takes to be an outsider, and Brisbane’s Lindsay Webb with his latest show The World’s Greatest Exaggerator fresh from a critically-acclaimed run at Adelaide Fringe Festival.

With humour ranging from surreal to satirical, from kitsch to keytars and from improv to irreverent, this year’s festival promises to have something for everyone.
