Five shows not to miss at the Adelaide Fringe Festival

This year’s Adelaide Fringe festival is in full swing, and we’ve scooped together the five shows and events not to miss!

Comedy: Wil Anderson – Wilegal 

He had sell out shows in 2017 across the world, and this year, Wil Anderson, the host of ABC Tv’s Gruen, returns to entertain audiences with his stand up comedy show Wilegal. Be prepared for an hour of outstanding comedy, as Wil hilariously recounts his run in with the law on a plane to Wagga Wagga.

Music: The Velvet Underground presented by Little Captain

The Velvet Underground were one of the most iconic American rock bands of the late sixties and early seventies. Local band Little Captain are paying tribute and bringing their biggest hits back to life for two shows only during the Fringe.

Theatre: Shell Shock

Adapted from Neil Watkin’s novel, Shell Shock follows the story of an ex-army medic, who embarks on returning to normal life after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. It explores the dark and emotional experiences of war and cleverly contrasts them with light-heart encounters like relationships, post office queues and trips to Ikea.

Events: Waymouth Street Party

Waymouth street will transform into an funky and hip street party for one evening only. You can expect great live music performances, delicious street food and beverages, and a vibrant atmosphere in Adelaide’s city business district.

Cabaret: James Mclean: Goodie Two

Peter heart is a nice guy and goodie two shoes, who’s very excited about his new job. However, when it turns him into a gangland criminal, Peter has to find a way to survive by offending the bad men now in his life.
