Queensland Ballet’s The Nutcracker 2017 (Brisbane)

Little Clara is wide awake on Christmas Eve, when suddnely the clock strikes midnight and a magical fantasy unfolds. Clara’s gift of a Nutcracker comes to life, and together they go on a fairy tale adventure through to The Land of Sweets. The Queensland Ballet bring to stage a reinvented version of a timeless classic. With the brilliant music of Tchailkovsky and beautiful sets and costumes, Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker promises to be the perfect Christmas treat!

A Christmas with Thumbelina (Perth)

In a real life puppeteering extravaganza, Thumbelina and her friends are here to bring on the Christmas Cheer with sing-alongs and dancing. Based on the classic Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, ‘Thumbelina,’ is the story of a flower that turns into a little girl. Living happily with her mother Mrs Anna, Thumbelina one day goes missing and must find her way back home. The epitome of Family Christmas Fun (or for children disguised as adults), this production is sure to spread the fairy-tale magic of Christmas.

A Very Kransky Christmas (Adelaide)

After a sell-out 2016 season the nutty sisters have returned to show what a dysfunctional family really looks like. Christmas Festival (Melbourne)

The annual Christmas Festival transforms the city into a wonderland, celebrating the spirit of Christmas in true Melbourne style. This year the hub of the festival will be taking place in Federation square, with a 16 metre high Christmas tree as the centerpiece! With an array of activities, decorations and events, from Santa’s house, Gingerbread Village and the Queen Victoria Market’s Christmas Glisten– there’s something for everyone! You can even download the festival’s app, Santa’ Lil Helper, which will have you travelling down the cities iconic laneways, unearthing augmented reality experiences.
